Projects Abroad is the leading overseas volunteering organisation that focuses on placements and projects throughout the developed and developing nations. For my role I was in charge of volunteer groups in Kathmandu, and included:• Working on the ground in Nepal, effectively organizing volunteers at the project in which they were working. • Used HR systems to aid in the development and management of hundreds of volunteers.• Coordinating project logistics and transport. • Maintaining and altering project schedules on an ad hoc basis.• Consistently motivating and boosting morale of the volunteers throughout the project. • Resolving conflict within the project group. • Catering for the volunteers’ medical needs, including risk assessment of their physical and mental status. • Preparing volunteers for cultural changes and manage cultural shock.• Assisting in the evaluation of individual placements, as well as constantly adapting the schedule and placement to volunteer feedback.

As an alumnus of Projects Abroad, I choose to aid in the representation of the organisation at events throughout Sydney. Throughout my time as an ambassador, I have: • Focused on becoming a communicative and personable face of the organisation. • Using a holistic knowledge of the organisation, assisted in the transfer of knowledge between the organisation and potential future clients.• Allowed myself to develop greater knowledge about the concerns and needs of clientele to better assist them.

While working at The China Gap as a Marketing and Social Media Intern, I was given a number of responsibilities. The first and foremost was managing the online content we displayed on our range of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc), as well as the organisation's blog.I was also given the responsibility, along with several others, to help develop marketing strategies to increase our online presence, which helped increase their online followers twofold. I also conducted analysis and evaluation of these strategies to determine successful and unsuccessful strategies.

Working at SAAPRO, I was given the task of researching and acquiring candidates and clients for our recruitment database. Contacting organisations and individuals was a daily requirement of my position.I was also given the opportunity to train and develop the skills of new employees. This included getting these individuals familiar with the systems integrated within our organisation, and also becoming familiar with the work they were conducting.
