As an experienced professional in the agriculture industry, I specialize in irrigation and drainage infrastructure management. My passion lies in helping farmers effectively manage their water resources to continue feeding the world. I have a proven track record of coordinating with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to obtain approvals and mitigate impacts of agricultural drainage, as well as leading the design and construction of irrigation pipeline and pump station projects.In addition to my professional experience, I'm descended from a mixed-operation century-family farm and now own and operate my own farm with my wife, where we grow various crops, including Haskap Berries, Raspberries, Garlic, and other vegetables. This unique combination of professional and personal experience allows me to truly understand and relate to the challenges farmers face on a daily basis. I used this unique experience as an instructor, delivering over 20 online courses on agricultural drainage to more than 200 students.Having served as a councillor and now serving as the Mayor of the Town of Outlook, I am deeply committed to my community. In this role, I strive to provide strong leadership and a clear vision, working to inspire growth, foster connections, and unlock the full potential of our community.I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Systems Engineering from the University of Regina, a Municipal Sector Governance Certificate from Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy and an Automation and Digital Agriculture Specialist Program from Palette Skills.I am always looking to connect with like-minded individuals and professionals in the agriculture industry. I've provided my expertise working on studies and designs from both Lake Diefenbaker and the North Saskatchewan River. On the Westside Irrigation Project, I worked on the distribution portion which connects the producer sprinkler systems to the canals. These services included asset management, contract administration, and database development. Collaboration, problem-solving, and innovation were keys to success in this role. One of my highlights included developing the Saskatchewan Irrigation Infrastructure Management System. It included developing an ArcGIS database to inspect, catalog and value 3500+ irrigation assets. The insights derived from the data supported a $30 Million transfer of funds to Irrigation Districts when they took ownership of the infrastructure.
