Infomation Systems Manager
CurrentAs the IT Manager at Kaysville City, my central role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities essential to the city's technological infrastructure. With over 20 years of experience in the IT sector, I’ve made a successful transition from a GIS role to become an influential figure and team builder behind the city’s data-driven and electronic systems. I craft and execute IT strategies that are fully aligned with the city’s objectives, ensuring that technology is seamlessly integrated across all departments. My responsibilities also include the management of a fiber network, with a strong focus on optimal performance, high availability, and robust data security. I establish and enforce both network and user policies, setting the benchmark for security and operational efficiency. Further, I'm accountable for server updates, data backups, and software installations, all aimed at maintaining a stable and reliable technological infrastructure. I lead a responsive helpdesk that delivers immediate assistance in troubleshooting, software configuration, and systems updates, which contributes to improved user satisfaction and productivity. As the custodian of the city’s public-facing website, I coordinate content updates and user experience enhancements across multiple departments. I also prepare and present the annual IT budget, strategically aligning it with departmental needs while effectively managing expenditures. Project coordination is another significant aspect of my role; I lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of annual projects by leveraging cross-departmental resources. Additionally, I provide specialized IT support to critical municipal functions such as the Police and Fire Departments, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and operational readiness. Through strategic, operational excellence, and cross-departmental collaboration, my goal is to create an IT ecosystem that meets the city’s current needs, and well-prepared for future challenges.
