Goat Hope Marquette is a service organization that works to bring health and financial support to women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Embu, Kenya. Our service organization at Marquette is an extension of the Medical Relief Alliance (MRA), which has over 200 goats providing milk to be consumed and sold by families in Embu. MRA is currently in the process of fundraising and constructing a dairy to bottle Goat Hope milk and be distributed through Naivas, a large Kenyan supermarket chain.

• Assist the vice-president and Government Affairs team with research, written content, and oral communications on issues of importance to the university at the federal, state and local level. Research and create content and maps for the Near West Side Partners non-profit initiative.• Serve as primary Public Affairs intern responsible for outreach and recruitment on behalf of the Les Aspin Center for Government.

• Reached out to nearly all of the 1,000 member companies of the association, updating contact information, collecting accounts receivable, and addressing questions from members• Streamlined the transition to a new database by compiling and organizing hundreds of member contacts• Supported local, state, and national advocacy objectives by contributing to planning meetings and collecting information on government officials and initiatives throughout the country
