A member of the structural design team for the last 25 months for Honolulu's first 20 mile elevated rail line project connecting west Oahu to downtown Honolulu. Provided structural design and project management for four of the station structures and pedestrian bridges using SAP2000 and CSI Bridge softwares to meet the compendium of design criteria and AASHTO, IBC, and State of Hawaii code. Design included steel superstructure truss framing to exceed code loads (seismic, vibration, etc.). Close coordination with guideway to ensure interface items were coordinated and clear. Designed the station platform segmental prestressed post-tensioned concrete girders. Developed project specifications, coordination with other disciplines including Arch, mech, elec, geotech., guideway, Hart, and others. Developed CAD drawings and coordinated efforts with the cad drafters. Provided quality control prior to submittals.Provide third party review for other stations aling the rail line.Provide design for new and existing Board of Water Supply structures including water reservoirs, pump stations and other facilities for all Hawaiian islands and Guam. Design of new concrete reservoir tanks (wire-wrapped strand prestressed, tendon prestressed, and conventional concrete) and steel tanks. Developed drawings for permit and construction, specifications, cost estimates, proposals, and permit documentation. Design efforts also include design of retaining walls, conventional concrete and tieback anchor designs for the HDOT and others jurisidictions.

- Coordinated structural drawings and designs with the drafter- Designed concrete members such as t-beams, shear walls, hollow core plank, beams, columns- Designed steel beams, moment frames, columns, collectors, chords, composite floor, and other misc. lateral and gravity systems- Devoloped gravity and lateral loads per governing code- Engineered members with the use of computer programs including; Concise, Risa 3d, RisaFLoor, Enercalc, Safe, Etabs

Performed stuctural calculations on aluminum exterior building systems such as curtianwall, storefront, channel glass, point-supported, aluminum panels, and stone cladding systems. Project types included high rise residential towers, stadiums, hospitals, schools, commercial buildings, malls, skylights, canopies, and even mosoleums. Project locations included the entire continental U.S, Hawaii, Alaska, and Canada involving the requirement to design with many jurisidictions and codes.Engineering calculations were performed showing structural integrety of members and connections agains wind, seismic, and/or gravity forces using quick hand calculation methods or computer programs. It could take an hour or up to many months to complete a project. I would be involved with up to as many as 6 or 7 projects at any given one time, along with close client interaction at project meetings.

- Devoloped city traffic reports and studies for the City Engineer- Surveying on projects such as city parks and sports feilds, city buildings, and streets- Supervised city street overlay projects- In charge of city traffic count study- Handled resident concerns and questions on an engineering side- Assisted with the Towne Center Project with supervising construction of water mains, gas pipes, traffic lights, streets, sidewalks, etc.
