In September 2022 I left Scotland and moved to Mannheim - Germany to work as a HGV mechanic for military vehicles. After 8 years at my previous job I had grown comfortable and wanted to challenge myself. I also wanted to gather experience working on different equipment. Initially I was worried about how I would adapt to working on heavy vehicles as opposed to light but I have found it to be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. I feel very comfortable and well suited to working on heavy wheel vehicles.

At the age of 17 I started an apprenticeship as a automotive technician with Highland Audi in Inverness. After completing my apprenticeship I continued to work with the company for a further 4 years. During my time here I gathered a lot of skills and experience that has and will continue to serve for the remainder of my time in this industry. I carried out a wide variety of jobs including - removing and stripping engines - transmissions - replacing suspension components - replacing timing belts/chains - fault diagnosis/electrical diagnosis. I was also given the responsibility to train and mentor an apprentice for two years during my time here.
