I love rock climbing and snowboarding; I'm not talking about rock gym walls and Perfect North either. They just don't quite do it for me after getting a taste of the real deal. I grew up with depression and anxiety, but in 2014, I had the onset of paranoid schizophrenia. Growing up, I always wanted to help people who were struggling with something, anything. After years of strenuous efforts of learning how to cope and lessen symptoms, I want to be that inspiration for someone who is struggling. I was at a point where I was hopeless, didn't have any friends, living with my parents, suicidal, and all I wanted was someone who could not only relate but also tell me that everything would be alright. I want to help people who cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel to let them know that they CAN live a happy, productive, and fulfilling life. Not only that but they are worth something and that it's possible to have a normal dating life. I treat personal growth as if it were a hobby, so I'm continually reading and learning. The certification requires continuing education, but I would be learning from multiple different sources and books. I also have some experience and knowledge regarding addiction. My clean date is Christmas Day 2018. I recently gave up smoking cigarettes, too, just before starting the Mental Health America training program to get certified as a Recovery Specialist.
