- Identification of job hazards and controls as part of work planning and experimental safety reviews- Prepares written training material and job procedures. - Assists with injury/ illness analysis and return to work investigations;- Conducts facility inspections, ES&H surveillances and assist line organizations with audits and assessments.- Conducts project design reviews from a single lab to complete science buildings;- Demonstrates a broad knowledge in, and familiarity with, mechanical systems including: laboratory fume hoods, HVAC systems, pressure vessels, cryogenics, and compressed gases.- Provides Industrial Hygiene services to laboratory departments.- Identify, incorporate, and communicate environmental requirements.- Provide technical assistance on implementing environmental requirements and performance feedback to the line organizations.

Manages, plans, implements and evaluates safety programs for the Feinstein Institute. Maintains and improves facility safety programs in conformance with federal, state, Health System, local laboratory safety regulations and industry standards. Provides safety education to Feinstein staff. Investigates and resolves facility safety hazards. Performs IAQ testing and exposure monitoring for personnel. Assists laboratories with creation task specific SOP's. Develops facility policies and SOP's as needed. Performs risk assessments of new research protocols. Collaborates with Engineering for laboratory renovations and build-outs. Member of IBC and consulting member of IACUC. Manages the Hazardous Waste Program.
