Ryan T. Northrup was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and grew up in Mobile, Alabama where he attended UMS-Wright Preparatory School. In 1994 he graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy Studies with an emphasis on federal and state environmental laws. Ryan earned his J.D. (Cum Laude) from Cumberland School of Law in 1998. While at Cumberland, Ryan was a member of the Cumberland Law Review and was inducted into Curia Honoris the school's legal honor society. Ryan has over 20 years of legal experience in both Alabama and Florida. Although his primary practice areas focus on general commercial litigation and appeals, he has significant experience in commercial, financial and intellectual property law. In addition, Ryan has worked on several complex environmental litigation matters involving toxic torts, chemical exposure and CERCLA remediation. Ryan previously served as the President of Board for the Joe Jefferson Players, Alabama’s oldest continuously running community theater. Ryan is also on the board of the Mobile Shakespeare Company, where he has also been seen on stage, when time permits. For the last five years, Ryan has been an assistant basketball coach for the varsity women’s basketball team at his Alma Mater, UMS-Wright Preparatory School. Ryan is licensed to practice before all state courts in Alabama and Florida. In addition, Ryan is licensed to practice before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and several U.S. District Courts in Alabama and Florida.
