Integrated external Air Defense units and enablers into division plans, exercises, and operations - aligned with the Commander's intent. Responsible for the employment of complex communications architecture to provide local air picture and early warning of threat activity.

Served as a Security Force Assistance Assessment Analyst in the United States Africa Command Theater Synchronization Division. Supported the command and the joint / inter-agency community of stakeholders in implementing the Theater Synchronization Framework and processes. Responsible for the combat readiness of the battalion which consisted of more than 750 Soldiers, a Headquarters battery, five Patriot Missile firing batteries, one attached short-range air defense Avenger Battery, and a Maintenance Company, with an emphasis on discipline, training, maintenance, and Soldier / family member welfare. Oversaw maintenance readiness and property accountability of more than 6,000 pieces of organizational equipment valued at approximately $125 million. Responsible for advising, supervising, directing, and coordinating the battalion staff, facilitating the interaction and completion of battalion activities, making decisions in the absence of the commander, and managing an annual budget in excess of $5 million.

Served as the Deputy Brigade Operations Officer responsible for planning, resourcing, and executing training and operations for a brigade consisting of two Patriot Battalions and one Avenger Battalion totaling over 2,000 Soldiers with 15,850 pieces of organizational equipment valued in excess of $250 million. Developed long range training plans and coordinated and synchronized all peacetime and contingency operations in support of the higher headquarters and designated supported commands.

Served as the Brigade Commander's representative and liaison to the brigade's higher headquarters during combat operations in Afghanistan. Facilitated situational understanding and mission command between the brigade and the higher headquarters, as well as across special operations and inter-agency enterprises. Represented Brigade Commander and Staff equities to the higher headquarters Commanding General and at various working groups and planning sessions. Briefed brigade maneuver operations to include time-sensitive, high risk missions. Ensured higher headquarters intent was conveyed to my Brigade Commander while coordinating for required resources on behalf of my brigade. Additionally, met with every wounded Paratrooper in our brigade who was evacuated to the Role III Medical Facility in Kandahar. Ensured our Soldiers knew that there was a fellow member of their team in the area if they needed support and provided status updates to their leadership.

Facilitated mission command between the maneuver brigade task force and its supporting aviation task force during the conduct of combat operations in Iraq. Responsible for all aspects of airspace coordination above the supported brigade's battle-space. Specifically, airspace command and control, airspace control order submissions, and the planning of aviation missions in support of the brigade ground maneuver elements. Performed liaison duties between the aviation task force and the brigade staff.
