At JAS I refined more of my fabrication skills, working partly as a finish carpenter I was required to do a lot of precision work as well as work directly with clients and the company’s designers to translate ideas and drawings to reality.

As a supervisor I was motivated to quickly resolve varying challenges as students constantly needed help throughout the facility. I facilitated and taught students to process 3D prints, laser cuts, and CNC files. As well, I maintained and constantly used the metal and wood shop for fabrication purposes.

As a carpenter for Darren Patt construction, the majority of my work consisted of preliminary framing and concrete form work. This required me to independently solve problems on-site as well as communicate and collaborate with my co-workers to work as efficiently as possible.

I learned from trained architects, structural engineers, and construction managers how to go through the entire process from the initial design ideas to the actual construction and time management of a project.
