As the Marketing Communications Manager, reporting directly to the Director of Marketing, I was in charge of collaboratively generating and then executing all customer-facing and b2b marketing initiatives as well as providing marketing support for hundreds of our nationwide dealers, online retailers, and global distribution partners.Strategic Goals* Yearly goal setting for the events program in support of long- and short-term company global initiatives. Tasked with creating the complete program definition for all marketing events and related tradeshows, conferences, seminars, touring demonstrations and global sales meetings.Department Responsibilities* Accurate event budget management of $6MM per year.* Led a small marketing team of direct reports including hiring, firing, reviews, coaching and individual goal-setting.* Design and execution of all company events, conventions, & sales meetings, with as many as 19 conventions per year in 9 countries covering multiple vertical markets: cinema, retail/consumer, installed architectural, and professional live sound.* Additional events included a variety of venues and formats including interactive ballroom displays/demos (10,000sqft), trade show exhibits (900-1,200sqft), training seminars, sales meetings, parties, and even outdoor live-sound "shoot-outs" with complete concert staging, lighting, talent, and backline.Project / Event Management* Long-term project management of large exhibits would typically extend 16 months into the future.* Deigned rapid-deployment event kits to provide marketing support for our partner events and trainings. These kits could be deployed anywhere in the world in less than a week.Logistics* International and domestic freight coordination/compliance, ocean freight, customs paperwork and VAT recovery.ROI / Evaluations* Post-event show reporting with emphasis on generating a complete return on investment evaluation and gathering feedback for improving future events.
