Project Manager for the Traffic Reduction Study, looking at if, where, and how a traffic reduction pilot program that would utilize congestion pricing combined with additional transportation options could reduce traffic, improve mobility, and support community health and prosperity.Core member of the strategic planning team for the agency strategic plan, and supporting continuous improvement of project delivery, maintenance, and operations.

Various areas of work included economic and fiscal impact studies for mixed-use and transit-oriented developments, climate mitigation and adaptation plans, sea-level rise cost benefit analyses, community and general plan updates, and funding and financing strategies. Roles ranged from project manager to lead economist and policy planner.

• Successful coordination of multi-organizational efforts to write and pass legislation and budget language that have significantly shaped billions of dollars of investments from California’s cap-and-trade program.• Worked with over 40 developers and agencies to design and submit integrated, low-carbon land-use and transportation projects for multi-million dollar competitive funding grants from the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program.• Led efforts surrounding the creation of guidelines and regulatory language for several of the signature programs in the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF). • Worked with public agencies and private developers to quantify greenhouse gas emission reductions and get clearance for transit, active transportation, housing, and conservation projects.• Acted as the lead liaison between TransForm, legislative offices, the Governor’s Administration, coalition partners, and regional and local governments throughout the state on climate policy.• Co-managed the creation of TransForm’s website, ClimateBenefitsCA.org, to create an interactive mapping tool that includes all projects and programs funded from the state’s GGRF.

• Managed a coalition of more than 100 elected officials, labor, business, and environmental groups to insert policies into federal transportation bills that reflect California transportation policy and funding priorities.• Organized press events, conferences, and workshops across the state’s different regions to bring together key stakeholders and create momentum for the passage of MAP-21, the federal transportation bill passed in 2012.• Planned and carried out direct outreach to California congressional members both in-district and in Washington D.C. that led to the inclusion of policy language in federal bills.

• Implemented campaign strategies to promote the deployment of 1,000 alternative-fueled trucks, and the success of the Clean Trucks Program and clean air policy at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.• Headed collaborative efforts alongside other advocates and decision makers to advance statewide regulations that have significantly reduced diesel pollution in the Southern California Air Basin.
