Responsible for fulfilling teaching assistant duties for the Electrical and Embedded System Design Lab in which students design an electronic system containing both hardware and software elements. The lab activities culminate in a final design project to achieve digital control of a DC motor, including a user interface, motor driver, speed and position measurement, control algorithms, and implementation troubleshooting. The lab exposes students to challenges in technical communication, development and documentation of design engineering, and cross-functional skills such as teaming and ethical decision making.

Auburn, Alabama

Research and Teaching Assistant for the Nuclear Power Generation Systems laboratory at Auburn University. Responsibilities include problem solving and troubleshooting for ongoing lab activities, fabrication, design, and wiring of electrical projects, and providing nuclear industry experience as input to future project plans within the minor. Teaching roles include mentoring and instruction for operation of the Farley Nuclear Plant vPanel simulator during semiweekly open lab hours, as well as providing as-needed tutoring on nuclear power systems and fundamentals.

Vogtle Nuclear Plant Units 1 & 2

Filled full-time Engineering roles in Component Maintenance Optimization (CMO), Engineering Fix-It-Now (EFIN), and Electrical Systems. Led equipment reliability initiatives for safe shutdown transfer hand switches, the fire alarm computer system, and High Head Safety Injection thermal stratification monitoring. Performed failure analysis for rod control system malfunction and drove corrective actions to ensure reliable operation. Implemented plant computer database changes to improve efficacy of operator monitoring and engineer trending. Assigned role of "Co-Op Lead" to mentor new Co-Ops and share knowledge among new plant personnel. Co-Op experience at Vogtle 1 & 2 enhanced my continued education and professional development by affording the opportunity to make valuable contributions to the Engineering organization and work cross-functionally with site departments such as Operations and Maintenance.
