About Ryan Coyne

Having been chosen one of twenty students out around one-hundred and sixty to participate in a four year STEM program in engineering, I always thought I was going to have more of a traditional engineering job working at a launch site as an electrical engineer or mechanical engineer. It seemed appropriate, growing up on the eastern shore and being so close to one of the NASA Flight Facility in Wallops Island, Virginia.After graduating high-school and making the commitment to mechanical engineering and attending college, I made connections with people that happened to consult for Wallops helping them out with their general IT infrastructure at the time. At the time, he also helped professors at Salisbury University teach courses on iOS Development.At the time, this was five or six years after the iPhone was developed and released and you could start writing applications for the iPhone. I was absolutely intrigued to learn all about it. At the time applications were using Objective-C, so I started looking into tutorials and courses on iOS Development and learning the Objective-C language.After some time, the connection I made with the consultant at Wallops got some work for a mobile iOS application with some students that just graduated from Salisbury University. Knowing how much passion I had for mobile development, he offered me a part time job to help out and work on the application.From that project on, I have always known this is my passion and career. It is oddly satisfying to take a design or idea and make it workable and available on anyone's mobile device.
