Interned two summers in the data mining department, playing a key role in transitioning Yahoo! from solely a web directory into a search engine, allowing users to find information on the World Wide Web using keywords.Worked with engineers to create a database of keywords (hundreds of thousands), which were then manually categorized to certain properties and subjects within the Yahoo! web directory.Updated and redirected dead links within the Yahoo! directory, which were numerous due to the infancy of the Internet and the ever-changing redevelopment of new and improved company websites.Documented as one of the first several hundred employees (HR#: 372) at Yahoo!, which is pretty cool. :)
