The IOT schedule is populated with government required deliverables and activity milestones using Microsoft Project, and developed further with subtasks necessary to achieve those deliverables and milestones. Tasks are entered with clearly outlined objectives, with responsible parties assigned as resources of tasks to ensure timely completion. Task predecessor and successor relationships are identified and integrated with each other to create a clear path to achieve completion of all initial outfitting and transition activities, which will establish a schedule baseline. As dependency relationships are defined for tasks, and durations are estimated, deliverables and other tasks will be checked for slippage from government deadlines. Any adjustments will be made with input from the appropriate parties (including the construction schedule) to ensure timely completion, and a log will be kept citing changes. In the event that any deadlines are found unrealistic, a request for time extension will be submitted for review, citing specific reasons. Proposed changes will be submitted to the scheduler via email citing reasons necessitating those changes, which will be reviewed for impact analysis and discussed with VWI as they are received.
