Group Procurement Manager
Berkshire, England, United Kingdom
Throughout my tenure with the company, I have assumed pivotal roles in developing, implementing, and executing procurement strategies across three global territories, driving year-over-year cost savings and fostering supply chain excellence. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, I have significantly impacted EBITDA while providing robust support to various departments in their strategic endeavors.Beyond core procurement responsibilities, I have played a crucial role in supporting Engineering in the rollout of New Product Introduction (NPI), assisting the IT department with diverse project management tasks, and becoming a key stakeholder in navigating import and export dynamics post-Brexit.Key achievements during my tenure include:•Spearheading the implementation of a 'Back to Base' distribution and repair contract valued at over £600k over five years. This entailed sourcing products, managing spare materials, negotiating with and awarding business to a third-party 'smart' logistics provider, and drafting SLA documents.•Developing a comprehensive suite of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) shared companywide under the 'Consillion' banner, facilitating operational oversight across the three territories.•Collaborating with the Accounts team to formulate an annual budget featuring projected cost savings and expenditure, presenting these plans at the board level.•Successfully negotiating cost-saving measures with both existing and new suppliers, resulting in £237k in savings within a span of less than 12 months.•Effectively managing the company's procurement functions amidst the challenging market conditions precipitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, Brexit, Chinese New Year disruptions, and the Suez Canal incident. This involved navigating volatile commodity markets, particularly in areas such as Sheet Metal, Paint, Glass, Electronics, Packaging, and shipping.
