SHERMIN CHEN’s practice focuses on capital markets transactions, including debt and equity offerings across Asia for both issuers and investment banks. She also advises on corporate and commercial transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance and restructuring and has experience working with both private and public companies.Shermin acts for a wide range of clients across various industry sectors including marine, offshore and energy, financial services, real estate, construction, manufacturing, retail and technology.Prior to joining Sidley, Shermin worked at a leading international law firm in Singapore where she counseled clients on complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate finance matters. Her work included initial public offerings (IPO) and fund-raising exercises such as rights issues and placements, and post-IPO and corporate governance and compliance issues. She has also worked in the legal department of a global bank in Singapore where she assisted large public and private corporates and banks in numerous local and cross-border financing transactions that involved bilateral and syndicated loans.Shermin is effectively bilingual and is fluent in English and Mandarin.
