Over the last ten years, it has been a privilege to contribute my skills as a researcher, grant writer, and project administrator to the public sector. As a first-generation college graduate and Latina from South Los Angeles, CA, I am passionate about using my professional and lived experiences to guide my work in the field.Extremely well organized and diligent in all aspects of my work, I thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being part of impactful projects that improve outcomes in education, mental health, diversity, and financial equity. A researcher at heart, I have worked in various capacities in academic and non-profit settings. Using my core skills in research and grant writing, I have successfully secured private and public funding for program in Behavior Health & Wellness, Early Childhood Services, and Family Support Services. Within the last year, I have collaborated on writing government level grants that successfully lead to funding from The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, The Administration for Children and Families, and CARES Act Food Security Assistance Program – totaling $7 million dollars.I have also delved into organizing and fundraising for community engagement events (e.g., Free Income Tax Assistance Program, Community Health Fairs, and Community Literacy Events), which refined my skills in communication, project management, budgeting, and community outreach. This hands on experienced allowed me to work with various agencies and bring together resources for families. Moreover, my previous role as a school administrator depended my understanding of the issues face by individual families and student at a community level.Collectively, these experiences have made me proficient in various areas of public administration, including grant writing, program management, budgeting, project management, community engagement, fundraising, and research.
