This is a direct CIO staff role. I was asked to setup an Office of the CIO. I was promoted and given an additional role to setup a WorldWide Operations and Support Services Organization. This included all the field offices globally and engineering support services. Established a standardized ITIL based Incident, Escalation & Change Management process and tooling using Remedy. Created an organizational structure that bought all support functions except for applications under one large organization. Standardized Ticketing, Metrics, Monitoring & Alerting and Backups across IT. Introduced several new technologies to make global data movement faster to improve business productivity and meet their demands. Introduced several new programs to standardize storage, compute and network to reduce and optimize cost of goods and services by standardization. Started participating in IT Strategic, Budget & Portfolio planning. Was one of the IT leaders identified to develop a IT Project Life Cycle Methodology and implement it. Presented an IT Globalization Vision and was chosen to run that program. Was instrumental in creating RFP, vendor selection and arrive at final recommendation for the sourcing partner for IT. The recommendation was accepted and embarked on establishing a successful outsource operations out of India and modifying our operations in the US. Was IT representative for all Mergers & Acquisitions.

I was promoted and moved to Corporate IT to manage the Desktop Support, Data Centers, IT Projects and Global Network Operations. During this stint, rebuilt the Data Centers to provide high availability, revamped the global network contracts and established a project framework for IT. Also designed and built the IT component of multiple campuses in the Bay Area, India & China. Built a Network Operations Center group and started consolidating IT Service Management centrally. Established a corporate program for PC standardization, imaging and software distribution.
