At 1337 Ventures, I had the incredible opportunity to immerse myself in the dynamic world of investment analysis and corporate innovation. As an Analyst, I've delved into a multitude of industries, technologies, and start-ups, leveraging insights to shape our firm's investment strategies and drive forward-thinking corporate engagements.I worked on securing deal flow, negotiating deal terms and conditions with potential investee companies, and conducting due diligence. I worked within a team including finance and legal under the guidance of a General Partner to produce meticulously crafted term sheets.Upon investment, I worked closely to nurture the growth of our portfolio companies, providing hands-on mentorship and support in areas ranging from market research to business model refinement. Over the course of my tenure, I worked with approximately 100 start-ups (both in and out of our portfolio) with startups in the portfolio receiving ~15x follow-up funding.I also worked on a project for the Securities Commission to professionalize mid-tier companies, equipping them with essential competencies such as governance, structure and internal controls, fundraising strategies, and marketing. Worked together with various industry partners to develop a curriculum to transform them to be investment-ready.My journey at 1337 Ventures also saw me take on the responsibility of running the Equity Crowdfunding P&L (Leet Capital) within a short span of five months, a testament to my commitment to operational excellence and strategic acumen. The Warwick Economics Summit is Europe's premier student-run summit. As the largest student-run summit in Europe, the Summit hosts incredibly high-calibre speakers yearly from the field of economics, finance, policy, and charity. The Summit has hosted multiple Nobel Prize winners over its 20+ year history.I was promoted to lead the Talks' Team within 5 months of joining the Summit. My role as Head Coordinator of the Talks Team was to lead a team of 10 to curate the Summit for over 550 delegates from around the world. On a limited (we were entirely student-run) budget, our team invited and hosted the best and brightest minds over the course of the Summit including Nobel Laureates, Presidents, Prime Ministers, the Chief Economist of the IMF, European Commissioners, and Under-Secretary-Generals of the UN.Not only did I have the great pleasure of inviting personalities of such calibre, as the host to them over the three days, I had the opportunity to interact with and learn from personalities that very few students get to.

Interned as a Strategy Intern in the Group CEO's office:● Worked on a strategic business review of all business units of the Group to assess what should directionally be done with each business by assessing financial viability, opportunity realisation and risk appetite.● Worked to make the Group first ASEAN signatory of the United Nations' Environment Programme Finance Initiative Principles for Responsible Banking (UNEP-FI).● Analysed the various sustainable indices (DJSI, FTSE4Good, MSCI ESG, and WWF) to deeply understand their considerations.● Used the considerations above to conduct a materiality exercise of the Group's stakeholders (staff, management, customers, vendors, and charities and community) to shape the Group's approach towards sustainability.As a result of my work, I developed a deep understanding of ESG and sustainability, especially in the context of financial institutions.
