Motor transport maintenance officers supervise and coordinate maintenance. They are responsible for equipment readiness, maintenance shop organization, control of maintenance assets and providing advice on all matters relating to motor transport maintenance. Ensure that personnel are properly trained in all maintenance functions.

They assist the motor transport maintenance officer in all duties and tasks including training, safety management, budgeting, and logistics.Worked at reparable management company (RMC) and motor transport maintenance (MTM) conducting fourth echelon maintenance on fuel injection pumps, alternators, generators, hydraulic cylinders, fuel injectors and third echelon on motor transport assets such as engine, transmission, transfer case and axle replacements.

As part of the MSG detachment, the detachment member's secondary mission is to provide protection for U.S. citizens and U.S. government property located within designated U.S. diplomatic and consular premises during exigent circumstances, which require immediate aid or action. The detachment member will be physically and mentally capable of enduring a direct counter-intelligence and combat environment, master interior guard procedures, be proficient with security, antiterrorism, and counter espionage tactics. The MSG member must also be knowledgeable in law enforcement techniques, small arms handling and employment, emergency first aide, force continuum, less than lethal application, and entry and access control procedures.
