As a Senior Test Engineer I am responsible for the test automation strategy and direction across TAB. I also support the Testing Community of Practice by carrying out 1 to 1s with members of the testing team, conducting annual reviews and working to scale the team.

I was the first test engineer with automation experience to join TAB. I implemented a robust automation framework on an R&D project and built on that success by scaling the practice across the company.Cool Tech Achievements- Wrote a gem that helped formalise the way we structured calabash projects, this made it easier for engineers to move between automation code bases on different projects.- On a project with a rails backend I set rails to run inside calabash's cucumber steps allowing us to use active record to set up and alter data at any point in a test, mock responses to specific server end points and even alter server time to ensure the mobile app could deal with anything the server could throw at it.- Mocked 3rd party servers with an express node server that could be easily altered to return any desired data or http code to help cover edge cases.Key Testing Community Of Practice Achievements- Helped to grow the automation team- Helped to scale automation across different project teams- Gave a presentation to the whole company on the benefits and pitfalls of automation

Working in an agile scrum team I've written the iOS test framework using apple's instruments automation tools (written in javascript) and a python wrapper allowing us to easily run tests suites and make API calls to setup test data. I also worked on the API test suite which was written in groovy and used the spock testing framework. About 80% of time was spent on automation and 20% on manual testing on iOS and android.

As the sole software tester at Localstars I was responsible for designing, maintaining and carrying out all test suites. In addition to manual testing I wrote python scripts to test application APIs and automated regression tests in Java using Selenium Webdriver. All bugs were logged in Mantis bug tracker and I communicated outstanding issues to the technical director and head of development as development sprints neared their end. I visited clients off site to get a better understanding of how they used our software and fed this back into development as well as demoing new products to sales and members of the board. On top of testing I also developed a number of software tools including a web scraping tool that allowed in-context visualisations of how adverts will look on different webpages.

I edited short clips using Adobe Premiere to advertise small businesses in online adverts.
