My place within the Air Vehicle Design team involves frequent CAD design whilst interacting with customers to ensure competent and suitable design of components, rapid prototype manufacture & Testing involvement (3D print, Machine milling, etc) of new designs, documentation of designs and detailed formal report writing of planned test operations.I have gained experience in being the Technical Lead of a Future Flight project funded by Innovate UK involving the design of an aircraft capable of integrating Detect and Avoid sensor payload developed by external partners. Having this responsibility allowed me to build professional relationships within the Aerospace sector whilst gaining team leadership experience. Further to this, I have also lead internal investigations which required detailed accurate documentation to allow the release of certain components.

Initially I was placed in the Procurement department. This involved communicating with external suppliers and partners to purchase anything from staff welfare items to complex UAV components. Here, I set up procedures within the Procurement department to streamline the purchasing process which is now currently in daily operation. Next, I was rotated into the Software department where I was tasked with investigating the suitability and capability of a robot simulation package with a view to using this in future projects. Due to COVID-19, I have continued to work from home on this and other projects, along with a return to the procurement department to support the business during the pandemic.The final section of the graduate scheme was working within the Engineering Department. Here I assisted senior engineers in numerous projects with activities including preparation of technical documents, design of UAV components using CAD packages and frequent meetings with customers/partners. I have also been subject to many aircraft flight trials including the evaluation and performance capabilities of several UAV aircraft in the energy sector.

I held the position of a part time sales assistant along side my studies. This job entails me to assist the customers visiting the store with any enquires regarding sports wear/equipment. Team work and efficiency is essential in this job due to how busy the store is. Furthermore, from working here I have furthered my skills in customer service after working with the public.
