My passions for research, data, and design, along with a curiosity in how people interact with technology led me to enroll in General Assembly's 10 week full-time immersive UX course. The course covered the design process from start to finish, encompassed in 5 projects:NewsApp - Conceptual project. Created an app that was a news aggregator, combining an algorithm and human editors to determine an article's bias. Bias would be displayed on the Quick Bias Scale that would appear at the top of every article, describing the methodology for the score. Focus on interviews, problem and solution statements, storyboarding, sketching and rapid prototyping.Hilton's Tent City redesign - Conceptual redesign of an e-commerce site for hiking shoes, focusing on user interviews and testing, as well as competitive research, personas, information architecture and site maps. Care.org mobile app - Conceptual project with a team. Designed a mobile app for a non-profit to help fundraisers and donors raise money and keep them engaged. Focused on user interviews, competitive research, contextual inquiry, personas, card sorting, information architecture, mobile design, sketching, rapid prototyping, and user testing. Boston Press Photographer's Association (BPPA) - User research. With the goal of a website redesign, I worked with the BPPA's leadership to create a demographic survey to help them better understand the press photography community in New England. Followed up with interviews of both members and leaders to learn their experiences as press photographers, as well as how and why they used the website. Used data visualization and personas to present my findings to the leadership, along with suggestions for next steps for the organization and the redesign.Voatz "Election Wizard" - Capstone team consultancy project. Worked with a local mobile voting startup to create a self-service platform where election organizers could create elections and ballots.
