About Sam Katz

Hi, I’m SamAn immunologist focused on what large, multi assay datasets can tell us about the immune system.Bio Sketch:I am an immunologist trained in biochemistry, molecular biology, and computational biology. I’ve contributed lab work and computational analysis to projects in immunology, high-throughput screening, and systems biology. For my PhD thesis at the University of Cambridge (UK) and with the National Institutes of Health (US) I built a web based tool to help researchers prioritize genes to follow up on from long gene lists of candidates. Currently, I am one of the immunologists working on the Immune Profiler team at Verily Life Sciences (formerly GoogleX). The topics I’m most passionate about are inflammation, signaling regulation, and splicing/isoform variation. My skills are strongest at using databases and computational methods to translate high-throughput results into testable hypotheses and assay designs.
