As LMI’s senior health analytics professional, I have more than 30 years of experience in quantitative analysis and process improvement. I’ve been working on healthcare issues since joining LMI in 1991 and I am one of the original founders of AskMarty™, LMI’s suite of health systems analysis tools. Most recently, I invented the logic behind the out-of-pocket cost calculator on Healthcare.Gov. I specialize in transforming disparate data sets into useful information.I have developed extensive expertise in understanding and analyzing healthcare plan benefit, cost, and service area information. Currently, I support three programs at CMS: Medicare Advantage, Medicare Accountable Care, and the Federally Facilitated Marketplace for healthcare plans. I’ve conducted numerous studies for health-related government agencies including the development of a strategic plan for the stockpiling of childhood vaccines for CDC and an analysis of various distribution alternatives for medical supplies and pharmaceuticals within the VA healthcare system. In addition, I mentor several engineering co-op students each year from leading universities (in addition to other analysts) and actively engage those students in my healthcare work.I also have extensive experience in distribution logistics as both a consultant at LMI and with the Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company. At Chicago Pneumatic, I designed and installed a semi-automated warehouse; developed an international inventory control system,; and managed all facets of assembly and warehousing operations. At LMI, I have engaged in warehousing and logistics improvement projects with a long list of government agencies including the Defense Logistics Agency, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Postal Service, the U.S. intelligence community, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the U.S. military medical system.I hold B.S., M.Eng., and M.B.A. degrees, all from Cornell University.
