As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for the RF Surgical group I worked on process optimization related to epoxy dispensing for RF Surgical Clamps. I also worked with Operations personnel to train and fully implement changes. I updated all internal documentation required to eliminate a redundant passivation step for a purchased component, streamlining the manufacturing process. I also performed statistical analysis on past OQ / PQ data in Minitab to determine compliance with current standards.

As an Operations Engineering Intern, I received orientation on the AtriCure company and its history and mission. I also received training on cGMP practices and SOP’s applicable to the work I’d be performing.I worked with Operations, Quality, and Engineering personnel to understand and analysis current manufacturing / assembly processes. I developed and executed time studies, and as a result implemented changes to optimize manufacturing processes using Lean Six Sigma principals. I wrote new procedures and trained operations personnel to ensure transition was effective.

I analyzed and studied smart materials to create design heuristics, used biosensors to run experiments, and interpreted biosensor data to improve design models.

My role was to welcome all of the customers and ensure they signed into the facility properly. I would also schedule various events at the parks and assist in closing the buildings.

My role was to learn from of the various surgeries that I observed on a daily basis and to help conduct a research study on past patients.

I worked in the Soleimani Nephrology Lab. As a research intern, I was responsible for many tasks, including gel electrophoresis, PCR, and cleaning.
