I represent debtors, creditors, and trustees in complex bankruptcies, restructurings, and bankruptcy-related litigation. This includes stay relief motions, claim disputes, advocating for plans and disclosure statements, defending motions to dismiss for bad faith, negotiating § 363 sales, discovery disputes, and fraudulent transfer actions. I have represented debtors in every federal bankruptcy district in Alabama. Outside of bankruptcy, I advise individual and corporate clients in a wide variety of business issues such as the sale or liquidation of assets, negotiation of contracts, evaluation of claims made against them, and other commercial issues. I have transactional experience drafting stock purchase agreements, promissory notes, mortgages, and other contracts. I also have an active commercial litigation practice where I protect debtors, and advocate for financial institutions and other creditors in both state and federal court. I have extensive experience collecting judgments, and helping clients protect their assets from judgment creditors. As part of my practice, I often perform extensive legal research on complex statutory topics, and turn that research into persuasive legal briefs.
