My research interests involve understanding the underlying biology that contributes to diseases of the brain. I received my PhD in 2015 and was then the recipient of a prestigious NHMRC-ARC Dementia Research Development Fellowship which allowed me to work alongside, and learn from, world-leading stem cell biologists at the University of Edinburgh in the UK. I am now a Rebecca L. Cooper ‘Al and Val Rosenstrauss’ fellow at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, the largest neuroscience facility in the Southern Hemisphere, with the ultimate aim of elucidating the role of glia in neurodegenerative diseases such as Motor Neuron Disease and Frontotemporal Dementia.
