I am pursuing an M.A. in Security Studies at Georgetown University concentrating in Terrorism and Substate Violence. My primary research interests are anti-government terrorism, neo-fascist accelerationism, and the globalization of the far-right extremist threat. I have also published on topics related to counterinsurgency, civil-military relations, and military doctrine.I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, graduating with a BA in Honours History with distinction. Here, my research focused on historical manifestations of military extremism. I worked extensively on topics such as the international assessment of the threat of the German Freikorps (1918-1921) and the transformation of the Nazi Sturmabteilung (SA) following Hitler's ascension to power. Having begun my degree as a Writing Major, I completed extensive coursework in creative and non-fiction genres.I am currently a Research Intern at the Counter Extremism Project (CEP) and Research Assistant to Dr. Heidi Urben at Georgetown University. I have served as the Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Intern on the Military, Veterans, and Society Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), and have worked as a research assistant, sessional instructor on topics related to extremism and radicalization, writer and editor, and as a personal trainer. I also have extensive experience in editing and publications, having worked as an Assistant Editor at the woman-led literary magazine Pulp Literature, and serving as Editor in Chief of Mud Pie literary magazine where I managed 30+ staff and oversaw the entire publications lifecycle.
