Career PR flack turned non-profit communications leader. I've got a passion for leveraging data-driven subject matter to drive dynamic communications strategy. I'm currently the VP of Communications at Equable Institute, where we're working to solve the challenges facing America's public pension systems. From improving benefits to reducing public pension debt to improving K-12 education equity outcomes, we're driving the conversation around solutions that serve the best interests of all stakeholders. Not just political interests or budgetary bottom lines. I believe that research and data doesn't exist in a vacuum. Nor does communications strategy. Both should tell stories, shape narratives and drive content that authentically builds empathy and understanding across audiences and platforms to create meaningful, lasting change. While it's great to hit KPIs, success in mission-driven communications should feel tangible - not just look great on paper. While sounding the alarm on the U.S.'s $1.2 trillion ticking time-bomb is serious work, I think it's important to approach everything with a sense of humor and open mind. I believe the strongest teams come from fostering a sense of independence, a culture of equity and a network of support.
