Degrees in Civil Engineering and Physics, worked primarily for the same organization from 1994 to 2014, progressively awarded more responsibility, starting as a field engineer, then to contracts management, then to project management and program management. Cut teeth on outside plant fiber optic network design and construction projects. Reputation for quick learning and sound management fundamentals led me to contribute to the company's expansion of their electronic security system division. A key member of several sales and operation teams that won and executed large, multi-million dollar fiber network and physical security electronic integration projects involving design and installation. My primary role was the deployment leader responsible for estimating, budgets, schedules and planning, personnel acquisition and management, mobilization, customer and stakeholder communications, engineering and safety reviews, purchasing decisions, etc. Father of two incredible children, one a survivor of two bone marrow transplants, the other a rising ultimate frisbee star, husband to amazing wife. Currently a remote project manager engineering and constructing FTTH and middle mile networks for eX2 Technology. Enjoying life in Cincinnati, OH.
Listed skills include Optical Fiber, Fiber Optics, Telecommunications, Program Management, and 20 others.

Leading projects to engineer and construct fiber to the home and middle mile networks.
Montgomery, Oh
Wrote a book about our family's experience with our daughter's life-threatening disease, her dangerous cure and amazing recovery, to give hope to others facing bone marrow transplant. Negotiated and wrote contract for construction of our new house. Supervised construction, authorized payments, negotiated change orders, resolved issues. Compiled list of lessons learned and advised other owners who build a new home. Installed ethernet network and speaker wires during construction of our new house. Key volunteer for band and orchestra boosters for local school district; led three fundraisers worth $50k. Still Dad, just back to work.
Cincinnati, Oh
Project Management duties for Level 3 City Expansion projects in 5 markets: Northern New Jersey, Chicago, Columbus, Kansas City and Indianapolis. Was the primary customer contact. I remotely managed a team of 6 engineers who were based in the markets. I coordinated drafting work with our internal drafting department. I performed engineering duties for two of the markets as needed. The project scope included outside plant and inside plant route design as well as rack and power design, route permitting and construction inspection. A new approach to me, the customer required us to make the initial contact with the property managers (in many situations these were Level 3's customers as well), which led to coaching our engineers on certain sales techniques that would help open doors, research techniques to locate property managers and frequent encouragement to this otherwise commonly introverted group. Technical design specifications were also hard to come by, requiring me to frequently negotiate scope changes with the customer and develop clear communications to our engineers insuring compliance and quality while reducing the impact to the project schedule. The customer had a point of contact for each market so reports, availability and methods of communication were adjusted as needed to each person's requirements. Worked with several of my customer's internal stakeholder's to adjust to changes and to head off conflicts.
formerly Adesta, LLC, headquartered in Omaha, NE, with the parent company in the UK. Built the engineering and installation team for a program based in Detroit, MI area to deploy an access control conversion project, across 100+ sites in North America, while managing other security system and OSP fiber optic accounts in the Midwest.Prior to this position, I was a Project Manager for security system accounts located outside of our regional base in Chicago, with accounts in IN, MI, MO and OH, including a multi-state account with CCTV, PIDS and PSIM service responsibilities covering 10+ states. Duties included engineering, purchasing and management of personnel performing remote installations of and service on security systems for critical assets (national electrical grid & generation, manufacturing, distribution centers, an inland river port, investment offices). I managed the engineering and construction of a 40+ mile OSP fiber network in Dayton, OH for a power utility. I performed the surveys and produced the reports for a city-wide fiber optic network feasibility study in Bloomington, IL, with over 100+ termination locations. I performed feasibility studies for inter-city fiber backbones in central and southern IL.I supported and generated business development through opportunity evaluation, forming win strategies, surveying, project execution planning, cost estimating and presentation writing. I was often the lead Program/Project Manager proposed, including a large North American Access Control project with 100+ sites, which included several client presentations. I was a trusted resource for senior management for regional management issues and strategies. I was an early adopter of an in-house developed, web-based, project management tool, becoming an expert, and supported project managers across the region. I truly enjoyed my 20 years with the G4S Technology/Adesta/MFS family, learned multitudes and contributed to the company's success.
