A Senior Consultant at Frazer-Nash Consultancy. An economist with 13 years’ experience successfully leading teams through all stages of a project life-cycle. Specialises in economic impact assessments, feasibility studies and programme evaluations – providing high-quality solutions to complex challenges for clients covering a wide-spectrum of industries. Extensive knowledge of the UK economy and the political environment, having developed an impressive portfolio of socio-economic research projects across several sectors and disciplines. High level of expertise in assessing the economic and social impact of significant infrastructure projects and extensive experience designing HM Treasury’s Green Book compliant economic impact models and five-case business models.

Miller Research is a specialist consultancy working to create and support sustainable communities across the UK. During his time at Miller, Sam has led a wide cross section of projects, from Miller’s groundbreaking Retail Distinctiveness® work across the UK, notably in South Oxfordshire, Richmondshire and Northumberland as well leading several skills based projects within a variety of sectors. Utilising his economics background, Sam has recently carried out several impact assessments and as such brings a richness of skills and attributes to the Miller Team. To further his academic background and to enhance his management attributes, Sam completed an executive Master of Business Administraion (MBA) degree at Cardiff University in December 2010. Sam’s strengths include effective project management skills, valuable consultation skills and advanced analytical capabilities. Sam plans to develop his skills base by paying close attention to labour market skills and sustainable economic development, in which he has developed a level of specialism over recent years.

As a consultant with Miller Research, Sam managed numerous research projects which involved detailed analysis of primary and secondary data, consultation and reporting. Projects included research into skills for LSC's, evaluation projects for the Welsh Assembly, economic regeneration projects for several Regional Development Agencies (RDA) and research into overseas workers in the hospitality industry.
