Kuwait

• Review daily operating conditions of process units to assess corrosive conditions; evaluate the material performance and provide corrosion control measures and corrosion monitoring strategies to ensure reliability and cost control.• Actively involved in RBI implementation based on Shell methodology which includes identifying likely damage mechanisms and preparing corrosion loops based on operating conditions, process parameters and materials.• Conduct detailed failure investigation and root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns; provide mitigation methods, recommendations and material up gradation, if required. • Review of project specification during design stage for the upcoming facilities in the refinery which includes approval of Material Selection Basis (MSB), Process Flow Diagram (PFD), equipment drawings & datasheets, procedures for protective coatings & linings, cathodic protection philosophy and corrosion chemicals.• Regular review of corrosion control materials and establishing Integrity Operating Window (IOW) for process units to ensure that the operation is running in a reliable manner.• Active participation in plant shutdowns to assess equipment condition and provide required recommendations. • Monitoring of chemical dosing & inhibitor injection of process units for corrosion control, chemical cleaning, neutralization, passivation & mothballing procedures & monitoring, evaluation and selection of new corrosion control chemicals and monitoring of Boiler & Cooling Water treatment.• Selection, preparation and inspection of coating system for equipment in various operating media like potable water tanks, oil tanks, vessels, piping and painting under insulation.• Assess tank integrity during major overhaul by reviewing the need for cathodic protection and protective coating and ensure implementation of the same.

• Inspection of all major static equipment like pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, tanks and piping systems to ensure their mechanical integrity.• Preparing failure analysis reports for piping & equipment breakdowns based on operating histories, mechanical testing, metallographic studies & material identification and provide remedial measures. • Hands-on experience of Non-destructive Testing methods like RT, UT, DPT and MPT.• Inspection, testing and certification of pressure safety valves.• Active participation in shutdowns to perform detailed inspection, assess equipment condition and provide recommendations based on code and procedural requirements to ensure asset integrity and reliability.• Carry out proactive inspection based on statutory requirements and company policies ensure the integrity of plant assets by field rounds and action follow up.• Provision of weld repair procedures, ensure quality control and keep a watch on welding processes, electrodes, adherence to welding parameters, welder numbers and qualification records.• Categorization and review of inspection frequencies based on Risk Based Inspection.• Advise on new equipment design and correct selection of materials, repairs and modifications on existing equipment to ensure safety, integrity and longevity of existing as well as new assets.
