As a Senior Frontend Developer, I played a key role in leading the complete rewrite and design overhaul of the frontend codebase within the first six months of my role, followed by continuous feature development and optimization. I worked with React, TypeScript, Redux (Saga/Thunk), Three.js, Cypress, Jest, and Material UI to deliver high-quality, user-centric solutions.Key Responsibilities & Achievements:Frontend Codebase & Design Overhaul: Led the complete rewrite and redesign of the frontend, migrating from Webpack to Vite, enhancing performance, scalability, and the user interface. The overhaul was completed in 6 months, resulting in a more modern and user-friendly application.Feature Development: Following the initial redesign, I focused on building and implementing new features in close collaboration with the Backend and Sales & Marketing teams. I ensured the alignment of business goals with user needs in each feature release.Design Leadership: Took charge of most frontend design decisions, creating an intuitive user interface with a focus on user experience and accessibility.AWS Integration: Developed and optimized dynamic feature-based pipelines, integrating AWS services (CloudFront, S3, Lambda@Edge) to support a scalable and secure deployment infrastructure.3D Geospatial Visualizations: Built interactive 3D geospatial visualizations using Three.js and implemented geospatial analysis tools with Mapbox and Deck.gl, utilizing custom shaders for performance optimization.Test Automation: Established frontend test automation using Cypress and Jest, ensuring consistent code quality and reducing regressions during the development cycle.

My main responsibility was developing a new frontend architecture that could be used as a base for all platforms to allow for a large-scale migration from various legacy platforms. This made use of a GraphQL backend and a React frontend that could allow for a mono-repo solution. Whilst forming the architecture for this new platform, I was heavily involved in the setup and creation of new deployment pipelines, Cloudfront distribution and Lambda@Edge user authentication.As part of a small team, we proceeded to carefully migrate components across from the other platforms, ensuring that there was no downtime and the transition between each platform was seamless.I helped drive this large project forward and trained and assisted less experienced developers where necessary.During my time, we also built a PHP REST API from the ground up to service clients looking to implement an automated QA process into their system. I was also responsible for the maintenance, implementation, and bug fixes of several other products.

I worked as part of a small team of developers to maintain and manage large feeds of property data that would be prepped, processed and dispatched to major holiday lettings sites, such as Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Airbnb etc. I would work on 3 separate code bases (2 separate PHP stacks & React) and fix, implement and drive new solutions when necessary.During my first 3 months at Travelopo, I was solely tasked with a complete rewrite of the company's web platform from Angular/TS to React. This was completed in approximately 8 weeks and provided huge speed benefits and optimisations that were much needed.A much larger project that started within the first year was a large-scale refactor of the entire REST platform to improve overall efficiency and scalability. This project included a custom-built image service using a small EC2.I was also partly responsible for the maintenance and management of the AWS infrastructure which included EC2s, load balancers, RDS, route management etc.

As part of the Financial Comparison section of ZPG (Zoopla Property Group), my initial role consisted of working as part of several small teams to implement new features and components onto money.co.uk, along with the refactoring of existing legacy code on the website with the primary use of LAMP, JavaScript and SCSS. This involved working as an integral part of scrum teams in an agile environment and working on many different projects from start to finish. Myself and a small team were also tasked with the utilisation of a React stack to migrate both uSwitch and money.co.uk into a single unified platform. I also paired with and trained less experienced developers. The stack included React/Inferno, GQL/Apollo and Drone on Kubernetes.

As part of DF Sales, my role consisted of the modification, management and expansion of over 25 e-commerce websites, within a small team. We were generally tasked with the implementation of new site features and components, whilst ensuring that every site remained compatible with legacy browsers.Initially, most sites were running on LAMP-based stacks, using the Magento CMS, with the exception of a few Wordpress CMS’. The team was tasked with the migration of Wordpress-based sites to Magento, before eventually migrating again, with a redesign, to BigCommerce.The role also consisted of LAMP server setups, with cPanel, the management of in-house data systems with the use of C# and data collection through the use of Google Analytics and SQL.

Over the course of 6 years, I have worked on a multitude of different solutions with different clients, generally focusing on the use of Wordpress with AWS integrations. This involved the administration of mostly LAMP-based stacks.
