Internally consulting for all things continuous improvement: Utilising the Danaher Business System (DBS) in the Equipment Services business unit.

Led strategic and tactical Lean in the Devices and HID businesses at Cytiva Cardiff, utilising standard work, VSM, visual & daily management, OEE/OOE/TEEP, capacity modelling and expansion (ICAS), 3P and more.Used Standard Work and 3P to increase output from 10,000 units/week to 40,000 units/week for a product used in COVID vaccine production. At the same time, we improved safety by improving social distancing measures.Eliminated a root cause of a customer complaint with 5 whys to remove a temporary countermeasure that became permanent. This improved safety (ergo), quality (poka yoke), delivery (units/hr), and productivity by removing 700 NVA labour hours from the process for 2021.

• Led 11 direct reports, accountable for all operations in Quality Control.• Gave the team 3 shifts/week of time back by cutting non-value-added attendance duplications in meetings.• Drove training from 40% completed, 0% planned to 70% completed, 10% planned.• Implemented a visual daily management meeting (SQDCP), tracking KPIs daily.• Reduced walking time by 2.5 days/year using 3P.• Created leadership standard work for my role.

Gained experience in working in a global team, working abroad and on both remote/local direct global sourcing projects: • Certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt: $34K/year inventory reduction and 5.4 tonnes/year of lead disposal reduction.• Capstone Project: Strategy for improving supplier OTD. Drilled down with RCA to identify that the cause was an internal forecasting issue, avoiding negative impact on supplier relationships.• Negotiated £12K out of a £30K supplier price increase.• Attended Lean Academy in Hino, Japan and many international trainings/seminars.

Day to day operations of aerospace engine build in an overhaul facility with a scope of improvement projects:• Delivered a Six Sigma project. A zero-cost solution reducing scrap rate from 100% to 17% and 75% (2 items). Scrap reduction value of $375K/year.• Delivered standardised point of use tooling for the CFM business, with abnormalities clearly visible.• Implemented GE Aviation’s daily visual management system (GE Aviation Production System) in the CFM business.
