Increasing knowledge of our manufacturing processes (such as fineblanking, rolling, heat treatment, etc.) via modelling and simulation. Establishing cause-effect relations between the production process parameters and the (functional) product characteristics. Validation of the models via DOE.

My project aims to relate intrinsic mechanical properties, such as modulus and yield stress, of particle-filled polymer composites, to their scratch resistance. This is achieved by employing a hybrid experimental-numerical approach.
