Open days are often the first impression prospective students receive of a university. Therefore, as student ambassadors are the face of open days, being helpful and approachable whilst delivering useful and relevant information is key. My main responsibilities in this job include talking with prospective students and their parents, leading tours of the department and directing attendees to various locations in the building.As of June 2023, I have been promoted to Tour Manager. On top of my previous responsibilities, this adds on the role of coordinating all tours throughout the day, ensuring they are appropriately staffed and run as planned.As of July 2023, I have been fully trained to run the lab demonstrations, including the use of liquid nitrogen. This entails giving a detailed talk on various aspects of Physics, engaging and entertaining prospective students, whilst using various apparatus. Since these talks involve the use of the aforementioned liquid nitrogen as well as strong magnets and a Tesla coil, safety is of paramount importance for both myself and spectators. Therefore, knowledge and implementation of best practices is a requirement.As of September 2024, I have been trained to fully lead the aforementioned lab demonstrations.

The Nottingham Sutton Trust Summer School is a fantastic opportunity for Year 12s from disadvantaged backgrounds to be the first in their family to go to university. Each Summer School has as many as 250 participants with a team of over 70 fellow ambassadors, and so large-scale teamwork is a key skill. Additionally, this required professionalism, ability to liaise with staff and ability to work with young people.As of 2024, I was selected for the additional role of Welfare Ambassador. This involved additional training in being able to be a go-to individual for any welfare, welbeing and safeguarding amongst both the participants and fellow ambassadors.

Primary responsibility was handling communication within the park, which entailed taking calls from various points on site and radioing out the information to the appropriate on-site manager. Additionally handled park admission, as well as working the main gift shop.
