XMW Consulting provides consultancy and contract services in the areas of data science and software engineering, specializing in the development of technical algorithms and systems with MATLAB.Led the implementation and deployment of a platform for credit risk analytics for a very large global bank; consisting of a desktop application for model development and reporting, a production model deployment infrastructure, and a web interface for model end-users. The platform currently supports >50 model developers, >25 models deployed to production, and >1000 model end-users. The model deployment infrastructure is currently being migrated to cloud platforms, using Docker, AWS and GCP.Implemented a promotional forecasting system for a very large UK supermarket, exceeding target of a £10M annual reduction in waste and improved availability. The system is closely integrated with a data warehouse, and has been in production making live, daily forecasts across all stores and product categories for over five years. Introduced DevOps and MLOps processes, and deployment to on-premise cloud.Developed applications for the analysis, visualization and parallelized simulation of geophysical and seismological data for a very large UK oil and gas company, enabling a game-changing reduction in analysis times from over two weeks to less than one day. The applications include complex graphical user interfaces, multicore and HPC parallel computing, and integration of C code with MATLAB.Built a statistical model to predict domestic UK property valuations for a small web-based real estate company, leading to a 40% improvement in prediction accuracy. Carefully communicated analyses and results with entirely non-technical clients.Implemented a balance-sheet calculation application for a large Swiss investment bank, including integration with the KDB database. Introduced best practices such as version control, issue tracking, usability interviews and continuous deployment.
