I am currently Senior Quantitative Researcher (Early Years) at Coram, a childcare charity. In this role, I am responsible for managing a number of large scale projects, including the flagship Childcare Survey, which is published annually and regularly receives coverage in major news outlets such as the BBC and the Guardian. I have worked at Coram in various capacities since 2017; first, as a Researcher, then as a consultant throughout and beyond my PhD studies (mainly working as lead on data analysis for the Childcare Survey), and now as a permanently-hired, full-time member of staff. I hold a PhD in Politics from the University of Southampton, where I studied electoral fragmentation in English local elections over the past 50 years, using a variety of quantitative data analysis methods. This is complemented by my two Master's degrees, in International Relations (Security Studies) and Social Research Methods. The latter of the two, in particular, has equipped me with a broad understanding of a range of research approaches in the social sciences. I am currently not actively job-hunting, but would be open to the right offer. As a keen wildlife photographer in my spare time, I am particular passionate about animals and the environment, and would relish the opportunity to work in an organisation that campaigns for conservation or environmental protection in a similar capacity to my current role.
