Volunteer Coordination for Allen Neighborhood Center. Allen Neighborhood Center is a place-based organization that serves as a hub for neighborhood revitalization and for activities that promote the health and well-being of Lansing’s Eastside community and other stakeholders.As the volunteer coordinator, I work in the outreach and engagement department. Daily, I promote and advertise volunteerism in addition to conducting engagement with the community and center partners. This includes establishing and maintaining partnerships with local colleges, universities, and businesses. I also aid in the management of two fitness programs at ANC, MarketMoves and MarketWalk.Being the primary coordinator for our fitness program, Market Walk, I oversee volunteers, interns, and clients alike. Clients are our neighbors and we treat them as such; we know everyone's name and know about their lives through not only our walk-and-talk fitness and nutrition education style, but also through the amazing conversations and valued moments we share. This is what Allen Neighborhood Center promotes, both the health and well-being of Lansing's Eastside community and the profound community atmosphere that defines our programming.

Through the Peer Educator position with SARV, I lead workshops that taught Freshman and transfer students at Michigan State University about the prevalence and impact of sexual assault and relationship violence on campus and society generally. This includes 32 hours of sexual assault and relationship violence prevention and support for survivors training.

Academic tutors working with Student Athlete Support Services provide academic tutelage to MSU student athletes in accordance with NCAA policy. Learned topics ranged from biology, plant science, statics, and mathematics to sociology, and anthropology. Tutors are also expected to work closely with athletes' academic coordinators to ensure students are apprehending and understanding information to their fullest potential.
