About Samuel Dailey
"Consider this my financial contribution to your education." My dad had just bought two sows and a boar. It was a gift, or maybe an investment in my future. At the age of eight, he made it clear that I would have to pay my own way in life. If I wanted to go to college, a goal that he and my mother never accomplished, he thought breeding and selling hogs would be a good way to do it. I imagine he also thought I would learn a lesson or two. As it turns out, he was right.Over the twelve years that followed my eight year old birthday present, I built fences, mucked pens, repaired fence, raised pigs from piglets, sold my four legged friends when the time came, and repaired fences again. I've learned about hard work (a lesson learned relatively easily) and about patience (a harder lesson to learn). I've had athletic, academic and musical successes and failures. However, the greatest lessons I've learned in life, I learned on the farm. You can take a boy out of the farm, but you can't take the farm out of the boy.
