I am currently managing a solo architectural design practice in the interim period while seeking a full-time architectural position. To date the practice has delivered work for 2 small-scale commercial clients, providing full-service design and permitting services.

Gemelo is a partnership between myself and Anisa Hermosillo, dedicated to producing standout graphic design, publicity, and social media management to help any project or idea shine.

Since graduation I have been given a significant degree of independence working as part of the desertWORKS family on small-scale commercial projects across Arizona. Of special note are an agave bar + plaza for the Tucson Mercado San Augustin Annex and a boutique wine bar for Midtown Phoenix. I'm serving as design lead for both of these projects, one currently in Design Development and the other on track for construction in spring 2024. Another recent project, Dialog, won a 2023 AIA Arizona Component Award.

Re-membering the CIV (Centre d’Identification de Vincennes) is a research project led by Beth Weinstein that aims to make this detention and internment camp’s location, its architecture and the events that occurred there knowable to a broad public. The research explores how AR technologies can create a dynamic experience of a virtual CIV, as well as previously silenced voices, in the site where this internment camp once stood.As a research assistant, I helped to interpolate historic satellite imagery into a digital model. I took the lead on 3D texturing, video animation, and testing to produce a model ready for AR interpretation.

In 2020, Steward Observatory researchers developed a novel technique for economically producing double-curved metal panels to help fabricate cheaper satellite dishes. Recognizing the architectural implications of this technique, a cross-disciplinary team was assembled with the College of Architecture to expand and adapt this technology for economical building facades. I wrote a parametric script to produce optimally-tight surface curvatures within the tolerances of the novel thermoforming technique, and co-designed an installation to publicly exhibit the aesthetic and thermal potential of double-curved metal panel facades. Though the installation never advanced beyond a physical prototype, the script and research culminated in publication in the 2022 ACSA EMPOWER Conference Proceedings, for which I am a 25% co-author.

I spent my final fall semester as a TA for ARC341, a B. Arch career-track course that introduces students to advanced parametric design techniques in Grasshopper as well as advanced fabrication techniques using equipment like 3D printers, CNC milling, experimental concrete casting, and a KUKA 6-axis robot arm.

As assistant to Mr. Howard, I developed a new company portfolio, produced competition entries, and managed the design development and CD sets for custom houses in the Tucson foothills and the Great Smoky Mountains.

This internship focused on Revit-based CD development and office space planning for corporate clients. I also produced multiple RFP’s, updated the company portfolio, and performed CA work with occasional site visits.
