Develop a wide range of digital content for RepresentUs and its partner campaigns. Draft campaign emails and oversee production process for state-based democratic reform ballot measure campaigns. Participated extensively in the strategic planning and organization of New American Leader’s (NAL) major summer candidate training program for first- and second-generation immigrants. Edited and reviewed key campaign simulation exercise used for NAL candidate trainings. This enabled me to develop my knowledge of how to successfully manage many facets of a field campaign. Constructed and reviewed the GOTV exercise for trainees, allowing me to familiarize myself with the components and timing of an effective Get Out The Vote effort. Created and curated a presentation for NAL training on technological advancements in organizing and direct voter contact. Conducted in-depth research on peer-to-peer texting applications, and participated in demos on innovative organizing apps, such as Reach. Crafted and posted on NAL alumni Facebook groups to promote New American candidates and subjects relevant to our mission. Researched and compiled data reports on a wide variety of fields. Projects included seeking out New American candidates to add to our network; studying demographic characteristics of our alums; reviewing vote-by-mail and voter turnout trends in various states for use in training exercises; compiling a before and after analysis from narrative data to show the efficacy of our training program.

Had the opportunity to intern during the leadup and culmination of the midterm elections. Obtained insight and experience into how ActBlue was able to play a monumental role in the Democratic fundraising and electoral success in 2018. Was part of the customer service team handling thousands of donor emails and voicemails during a time of unprecedented volume for the organization. Facilitated grassroots small dollar donations to Democratic federal, state, and local candidates during the 2018 election cycle. This process allowed me to follow political trends as they were evolving in the leadup to the election through donor interactions. Gained proficiency into how to create ActBlue online fundraising contribution forms and in conducting research in candidates’ donation profiles. Worked with the outreach department to research local and state level races post-election with the purpose of preparing the organization for upcoming cycles. Met with representatives from every department within the organization, giving me insight into how a large non-profit in the political realm achieves success.

Researched platforms and relevant issues to secure endorsements for state-level candidates from organized labor and special interest organizations. Participated in the outreach, planning, and successful implementation of fundraising events for New York State and City candidates.
