Teaching Introduction to Public Interest Communications and the Capstone course in the online Masters of Public Interest Communications Program

Oversee and direct Wild Salmon Center community engagement in critical Alaska issues, including communications, grassroots organizing, and supporter outreach. Notably supporting the coordination the collaborative campaign to protect Bristol Bay with campaign partners via the Bristol Bay Defense Fund.

Supported daily operations and plan execution for Stand for Salmon, an Alaska based ballot measure campaign. Ballot Measure 1 would have updated Alaska's fish habitat permitting law, ensuring a proper balance between healthy and sustainable fisheries and renewable resource development.

Highlighting the historical significance of outdoor recreation and sports to conservation in a collection important for fly anglers and scholars of fisheries ecology, conservation history, and environmental ethics, Backcasts explores both the problems anglers and their organizations face and how they might serve as models of conservation—in the individual trout streams, watersheds, and landscapes through which these waters flow.

Directed and managed the collaborative campaign to protect Alaska's Susitna River from the proposed Susitna-Watana Dam. Lead campaign execution from political activities, community engagement, organizing and communications. Also collaborated on fundraising with coalition partners. In 2016 we achieved reprieve from the dam, when the Governor cancelled the project.

Coordinate the collaborative efforts of the Bristol Bay Working Group, a 12 plus member coalition of local, state, and national nonprofits working to protect Bristol Bay, Alaska - the world’s largest salmon fishery - from the threats of large scale mining development. This work entails budget management for legal, scientific, and media work. Priorities include support for campaign planning between diverse stakeholders, fundraising, grants management, and communication management.

Taught - "Science, Technology, and Culture," which was in many ways an course on issues in environmental science, ethics, and policy.

This was a 3 month research fellowship to investigate the history of coldwater fisheries conservation amongst sport anglers, particularly fly fishing.

Worked to begin design and construction of an aquaduct to provide potable water to homes in the community of El Maniel, in Southwest D.R. Was medically separated from Peace Corps due to a hand injury, so did not complete full 27 month service.
