I am a technically-minded creative with a wealth of experience collaborating in a creative process, organizing projects, and managing logistics. I put out fires, anticipate needs, and don’t hesitate to get my hands dirty to make things look just right.Super Powers:Curiosity — I’m a voracious and independent learner. Getting creative with things that are very technical — I have a thing for maps . . . made them in Adobe Illustrator, in Mapbox, of cut paper, and hand-painted. Just for fun. Making a team and their dream work — I’m somewhere between Ted Lasso and Coach Beard.Spatial awareness — No one can fit everything in a crammed-tight box truck or an over packed freezer like I can. And it always looks like Marie Kondo was there.I have leveraged and honed these in each field I’ve worked in:As a film lighting technician — Planning and running power for an entire film set, and making the whole crew laugh in the midst of wrapping out a 14 hour day.As an interactive and A/V designer — Painstakingly drawing museum fixtures in Vectorworks, meticulously soldiering together self-designed light fixtures for the agency’s model displays, and convincing a nervous colleague to try the fried bees while in Beijing for a project installation (they taste like potato chips!).As a systems integrator and project manager — Crafting a proposal for a lighting system AND sticking around to manage the project all the way through, from churches to TV studios. In German we say: Wer ernten will, muss säen (If you want to reap, you need to sow).
