I have worked in the social service field for over 30 years, with experience mental health services, triage, in-patient psych, developmental disability and child welfare. I have over 20 years’ experience with my current employer cover almost all aspects of child welfare, from initial reports of abuse and/or neglect to Adoption/guardianship/emancipation. I have worked in quality assurance, contract compliance, agency performance monitoring and staff development as well. I have received commendation for the Director of Illinois, Department of Children and Family Services and an African American Outstanding Achievement Award in Child Welfare. I have also been an active Union Steward and Executive Board member for 5 years.
