Hello! My professional career has varied quite a bit in my lifetime. I have always been a self starter, and started to work from a young age delivering the local paper and babysitting, then working my way up as a counter girl at my hometown's A&W, serving root beer and taking food orders. As I matured, I realized that I wanted to work in the caring for people industry and did an afterschool internship at Applewood Nursing home as a nurse's aide assistant. I continued my education at EMU college, and had many part time positions throughout. I typed term papers for fellow classmates, helped the colleges department of young children's education create a database and contact program via their computer system, babysat, and was a cashier at Kroger grocery store. I took another internship in my senior year to work with traumatically injured adults in a residential program. I then went to work, after graduating with my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, working with Geriatric Mentally Ill Adults in a semi-independence program to severely developmentally disabled adults in an AIS home, to traumatic brain injured adults in a semi-independence program. I then changed my professional path toward helping children and parents by working in child care. I worked at several child care centers and as a nanny for many years. During my nanny years, I developed a love for teaching beginner piano, and I am still doing both and loving both sides of my career coin! I now own an in-home child care and teach piano at my home and travel to student homes.
